Coordinated School Health (CSH) in Tennessee is a state-mandated program implemented in every public school district, connecting health and academics through eight essential components, including health education, physical activity, health services, counseling, nutrition, a healthy environment, staff wellness, and community involvement. Funded by the Tennessee Legislature, the goal of CSH is to improve student health and academic outcomes by promoting a healthy, supportive school environment. The Tennessee Department of Education's Division of Coordinated School Health provides districts with guidance, resources, and training to integrate the CSH model effectively.

2025 Campbell County School District Health Screenings

During the week of September 6–12, 2025, the Campbell County School District’s Coordinated School Health, in partnership with the Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) Nursing Program, conducted comprehensive health screenings across 12 schools, reaching a total of 907 students.

These screenings play a vital role in identifying early health concerns that may impact student learning and well-being. The results of this year's initiative included:

141 vision referrals

45 hearing re-screens scheduled over the following six weeks

2 blood pressure referrals

This successful effort would not have been possible without the dedication and collaboration of an incredible team of professionals, volunteers, and nursing students. Their commitment to student health and wellness continues to make a meaningful difference in our schools and community.
