TITLE I

Title I is a Federally funded program that provides supplemental funding for improving student achievement in high-poverty schools.

Schools qualify for Title I funds according the number of children that receive “free and reduced meals” enrolled in their school.

Schools that receive Title I funding in Campbell County are identified as “schoolwide Title I schools”.  Being a “schoolwide school” allows for the funding allocated for that school to be spent to improve academic standards for the entire school and not just for a targeted group of students.

Determination of expenditure of these funds is decided by a “schoolwide committee”  consisting of the principal, teacher representatives, and parent representatives.
