Campbell County Title I Family Engagement Policy

The Title I Director and staff will provide activities and procedures for the involvement of parents in all of the Title I schools. Those programs, activities, and procedures will be planned and operated with meaningful consultation with parents in each school.

The Title I department will incorporate activities and strategies that support the district wide family and community engagement policy into the Tennessee Comprehensive System wide Planning Process (TCSPP).

The Title I department will provide opportunities by which parents of students in Title I schools may learn about the course of study for their children and have access to all learning materials.

The Title I department will provide strategies to increase parent participation in the schools which are designed to improve parent and teacher cooperation in such areas as homework, attendance, and discipline.

To the extent practicable, the Title I department in conjunction with the district shall provide full opportunities for the participation of parents with limited English proficiency, parents with disabilities, and parents of migratory children, including providing information and school reports in an understandable and uniform format and including alternative formats upon request, and to the extent practicable, in a language parents understand.

The Title I department will include parent input into the planning, design and implementation of the Title I Program.

The Title I department will have meaningful consultation with parents of participating children in the planning, design, and implementation of the Title I program.

The Title I department will have organized, systematic, ongoing, informed and timely consultation in relation to decisions about the program.

The Title I department will have involvement of parents through activities and procedures which are of sufficient size, scope, and quality to give reasonable promise of substantial progress toward achieving the required goals.

To ensure that parents of participating children have an adequate opportunity to participate in the planning, designing, and implementing of the Title I program, the Title I department will convene an annual meeting, to which all parents must be invited, to explain the programs, activities and curriculum available under Title I.

The Title I department will provide parents of participating children with reports and explanation of their child’s progress.

The Title I department will, to the extent practicable, conduct a parent/teacher conference with the parents of each participating child to discuss the child’s progress, placement, and training in methods the parents can use to compliment the child’s instruction.

The Title I department will make educational personnel under the Title I program, including student services personnel, readily accessible to parents.

The Title I department will permit parents of participating children to observe Title I program activities.

The Title I department will provide opportunities for regular meetings with parents to formulate parental input into the program.

The Title I department will provide parents of participating children with a copy of the parental involvement policy as well as timely information about the program.

The Title I department will make parents aware of parental involvement requirements and other relevant provisions of the program.

The Title I department will provide reasonable support for parental involvement activities as parents may request.

The Title I department will coordinate, to the extent possible, parental involvement activities and strategies under other programs.

The Title I department will assist schools in the development a school-parent-student compact that outlines how parents, the entire school staff, and students will share the responsibility for improved student achievement and the means by which the school and parents will build and develop a partnership to help children achieve high standards.

The Title I department will provide information, to the extent practicable, on programs and activities in a language and form that parents understand.

The Title I department will annually assess, through consultation with parents, the effectiveness of the parental involvement program and determines what action needs to be taken, if any, to increase parental participation.
