History of Caryville Elementary School

The town of Caryville with 1,781 residents is the smallest of four towns in Campbell County.  Seven and one tenth square miles of land account for its small size.  Caryville Elementary is located against the rural Cumberland Mountains in East Tennessee, thirty-five miles north of Knoxville and thirty-five miles south of the Tennessee-Kentucky boarder.

Open since September 1938, Caryville Elementary School is one of Campbell County's oldest schools.  Today, Caryville Elementary enrolls 349 students for preschool (age 4) through fifth grade. There is also a Headstart program located on the school grounds.

Caryville Elementary School is a School-wide Title I Project School.  Our school faculty, parents, and students are participating in the CSRD program for the school years 1999-2002.
